Welcome to our website dedicated to raising awareness of domestic violence among couples in the LGBTQIA+ community in Belgium. Our new campaign "Love Should Never Hurt",aims to raise awareness about domestic violence in LGBTQIA+ couples and to help victims find the resources they need to get out of this situation.

We recognize that domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Our goal is to break the silence and provide essential information to those who need it.

In Belgium, according to statistics, one person in five is a victim of domestic violence. This is an alarming statistic that should be taken seriously. Domestic violence can take many forms, whether physical, psychological, economic or sexual.

Physical violence includes beatings, slaps, strangulations, burns or any other form of physical violence that may cause injury or pain to the victim.

Emotional abuse can include verbal behavior such as insults, threats, humiliation or intimidation. Economic abuse can include behaviors such as restricting access to money, banning work, or destroying property. Sexual violence includes any forced or non-consensual sexual behavior.

We want people who visit our website to know that they are not alone and that there are suitable services to help them out of this situation. We have identified the services available in Belgium for victims of domestic violence and have listed them on our website under the Help Services tab.

We also want to send a message of hope to victims of domestic violence: you are not alone and help is available. It's important to tell someone you trust about what you're going through, whether it's a friend, family member, healthcare professional, or a domestic violence organization. Victims deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and it is possible to find a path to a life free from violence.

Our site contains testimonials from people who have experienced domestic violence in their same-sex relationship, as well as video spots to raise awareness of this serious problem. We hope that our site will help you to better understand the different types of domestic violence and provide you with useful information to help victims get out of this difficult situation.

This campaign is the result of a partnership with the association Tels Quel in Brussels, which has been working for many years to support LGBTQIA+ people in Belgium. We are grateful for their support and expertise in the fight against domestic violence within LGBTQIA+ couples. We are also happy to report that this project has been subsidized by Equal Brussels, a funding program which aims to promote equal opportunities and non-discrimination in Brussels. We are grateful for their financial support, which has enabled us to create this campaign and to raise awareness of the issue of domestic violence within LGBTQIA+ couples.

We hope that this site will be a source of information and support for people affected by domestic violence in LGBTQIA+ couples. We encourage our visitors to spread this message and work together to help end all forms of domestic violence, no matter what.

Remember, love should never hurt.

This project is part of our various awareness campaigns in the LGBTQIA+ community. Part of this is as the Expressions Mixtes project:  www.expressionsmixtes.com
